Something About Charak Sankranti

 Dwarkadhish, who was a devotee of Lord Shiva, was wounded in the battle against Lord Krishna.

 In that memory, somShaivite communities celebrate Shiva Puja and Charak Utsav on this day.

Chaitra (hindu calendar last month of year) is celebrated  on the Sankranti  last day of the month.

 On the other hand, this festival has been popular among the Pashupatinath community since ancient times.  According to popular belief, this puja festival was first performed by King Sundarananda in 1465 AD.

          This puja is performed in different parts of Assam, especially in the villages.  This Charak Pujabhag village is mostly inhabited by the peasantry!  Those who organize this puja should eat vegetarian fruits for 7 days.  From seven days before the puja, the hindu lord Devadeva Mahadev is remembered.

  This Charak Puja is mainly performed by 7 to 8 devotees.  The trees that are turned around with spears are cut from the forest by performing puja in accordance with the rules and regulations.  

On the day of puja, the tree is cut down at the specified place, before the tree is cut to form a pole.  The peg is attached to the head.  This is followed by a tulsi in the middle of the arm, and one of its heads is tied with a barshi on the day of puja.  On the day of puja, the person who follows the prescribed rules is chosen from among the kajans and the puja is performed and the spear is tied on the back of the person.  A rope is tied around the top of the left arm.



This Chadak Puja is celebrated by all Bengalis  Chadak Puja is performed on the first day of the month of bahag month which is first month hindu region.       

                           

All of the villagers mainly bangali community come out and participate holy festival.

People join this religious ceremony  According to popular belief, this religious festival destroys all evils.
